Multimedia

In the age of technological advancements, unprecedented levels of speed and connectivity demand for fast, entertaining journalism. This demand requires a journalist to be -what I learned at the Al Neuharth Free Spirit Forum- a Swiss Army Knife. Balancing print content with an online presence on top of taking pictures, creating info-graphics and filming videos all while storytelling in new, engaging ways, is now the job of a sole journalist.

My time as a student journalist at Sparkman High School has been spent as a print editor, reporter, content creator and occasionally a video assistant for our website. This year, however, I have taken over the task of making our website more user-friendly and redesigned the site.

The Redesign

At the top of this section, you can see The Crimson Crier website before I began the remodel. To make our website more visually appealing, I removed the reds in the background to create whitespace. I then reconstructed the preview section and combined tabs. I added the live updates Instagram and Twitter feeds and even rearranged sections based off most viewed and searched. I also completely redesigned the head and our logo.
